The 58th Trade Day Chungbuk Memorial Ceremony was held

Chungcheongbuk-do Province held the 58th Trade Day ceremony at the Grand Plaza in Cheongju on the 14th, attended by more than 100 businessmen and meritorious people who contributed to the increase in exports to Chungbuk.
Last year, Korea's export growth fell 5.4 percent amid difficult conditions such as the U.S.-China trade war and COVID-19, but Chungbuk increased 12.8 percent to achieve the second-largest export growth in the country. At the ceremony, co-hosted by the Chungbuk Regional Headquarters of the Korea International Trade Association, 68 companies were awarded the top export award ceremony and 44 export merit recipients. A total of 68 companies were honored with the export tower, with EcoPro BM Co., Ltd. winning 800 million dollars, Kwang Metal Co., Ltd., WCP Co., Ltd., and International General Machinery Co., Ltd. winning 100 million dollars, respectively, and Nexplex Co., Ltd. winning 50 million dollars. EcoPro BM Co., Ltd., which received the $800 million top, has the latest technology of polarization materials, which is the core of lithium secondary batteries, and is leading the economic development of Chungbuk as it has established itself as a leading company in the global market.
International General Machinery Co., Ltd., which received $100 million tower, is steadily expanding its export share in Europe, led by Germany, and has topped the global list for two consecutive years in 2020 and 2021. Then, 44 businessmen who contributed to increasing exports through constant efforts, including CEO Ido Hideo of Stemco Co., Ltd., were awarded the Dongtap Industrial Medal. CEO of Stemco Ido Hideo Co., Ltd., who received the Bronze Tower Industrial Medal, was recognized for his contribution to technological development at the forefront of display technology for 30 years, including development of LCD color filters and materials for PDP. Lee Jong-yup, CEO of Toppr Co., Ltd., who received the industrial package, was evaluated as a company that succeeded in localizing cartridges that relied on imports in 2000 and won the $10 million export tower this year, a year after winning the $5 million export tower last year.
At the same time, three people, including CEO Soleon Co., Ltd., received the Prime Minister's Commendation, 11 including CEO Chamocdeul Co., Ltd. received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy's Commendation, 22 including plant manager LSLECTRIC Co., Ltd. and six others received the Korea Trade Association's Commendation.
Chungbuk-do plans to continue its export growth through administrative and financial support to realize Chungbuk's top economy, such as expanding exports of hidden items such as machinery, electricity, and chemicals, supporting the discovery of promising and promising companies, diversifying export items, and expanding the export share of hidden items. In an encouraging speech, Governor Lee Si-jong said, "In the first 10 months of this year, exports to North Chungcheong Province are expected to rise 19.5% year-on-year to about $23.8 billion, exceeding this year's target of $27 billion," adding, "This is the result of the passion and challenge of North Chungcheong traders who have made all-out efforts to recover exports despite the COVID-19 crisis."
Meanwhile, the event was held amid thorough quarantine measures, such as minimizing the number of attendees in consideration of the spread of COVID-19 and taking precautions to enter the memorial hall only when vaccination is completed.
