Air Separation

N2 Membrane Package

We manufacture N2 Membrane Package systems that continuously separate and produce nitrogen from compressed air using hollow-fiber membrane technology.

The Oxygen gas with the high permeability speed permeates out first through the vent port. Nitrogen gas with a low permeability speed comes out later through the end of hollow fiber when the compressed air passes through the membrane. The principle is to make use of the difference in the permeability speed of gas.

It separates and produces nitrogen by utilizing the difference in permeation speed between gases as compressed air passes through a hollow fiber membrane. PSA, by contrast, separates nitrogen using carbon molecular sieve (CMS), which adsorbs oxygen from the air faster and in greater quantity than nitrogen.

Oxygen, which permeates faster than nitrogen, passes through the hollow fiber membrane and is discharged through the vent, leaving only nitrogen to be produced as the product gas.

Yes, since the membrane method continuously separates nitrogen as compressed air passes through the hollow fiber membrane, it can continuously produce and supply nitrogen.

We have track records including the Andres project in the Dominican Republic (2021, 85 Nm³/h) and the Colon project in Panama (2017, 150 Nm³/h).

Membrane systems are advantageous for nitrogen purity requirements of 99.5% or below, while PSA systems are advantageous when high purity of 99.9% or above is required. The suitable method also depends on site conditions such as installation space, required purity, and operating method. Please contact us (+82-31-319-6845 / psa@aspe.kr) for a specific comparison.

These vary by capacity and specification — please contact us by phone (+82-31-319-6845) or email (psa@aspe.kr) for details.
